This Is Where I Came In - The Official Story of the Bee Gees mp3 Music Downloads |

No Description Available.Genre: Music Video - Pop/RockRating: NRRelease Date: 19-JUN-2001Media Type: DVD There have been a lot of durable family groups in popular music over the years, but it would be hard to name one that has lasted longer, and succeeded as consistently, as the Bee Gees. Barry Gibb and his younger twin brothers, Robin and Maurice, were making TV and radio appearances in Australia as early as 1960 before returning to their native England and joining the Beatles-led British Invasion, and theyre still at it more than 40 years later. All of that is duly chronicled in this two-hour documentary (produced in 2000), along with a great deal more: the personal problems that led to a breakup in the early 70s; the unparalleled success of the Saturday Night Fever era; their occasional missteps and failures (e.g., the abominable Sgt. Pepper movie); the rise and tragic fall of brother Andy; the respect their success finally earned them in the 90s; and so on. The format is pretty standard; interviews, photos, home movies, and concert footage all contribute to a straight, chronological telling of the Bee Gees tale. But no stone is left unturned, and the Gibb Brothers (not to mention everyone else whos interviewed) have plenty to say. Best of all, theres lots of the Bee Gees music, including a video of the title track of the 2001 album, after which the film is named. In the end, were left with the impression the Bee Gees would probably want us to have: that these guys have written, recorded, produced, and performed literally hundreds of great songs. --Sam Graham This is available for free download from the Members area. Bee Gees - Live by Request mp3 Music Downloads |
 |
Celebrating 35 years of hitmaking, the Bee Gees take the stage in New York City with host Mark McEwen taking the requests as Barry, Maurice and Robin play your favorite songs from the last four decades. From A&Es popular "Live By Request" music series, the brothers Gibb perform five new classics and over a dozen all-time favorites in this unique, intimate concert captured in glorious surround sound. Songs: This Is Where I Came In, She Keeps on Coming, Sacred Trust, Man in the Middle, Massachusetts, To Love Somebody, I Started a Joke, Jive Talkin, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, Gotta Get a Message To You, Acoustic Medley: New York Mining Disaster/Run to Me/Too Much Heaven/Islands in the Stream/Holiday/A Woman in Love/Guilty/Nights on Broadway, Wedding Day, Lonely Days, How Deep Is Your Love, You Should Be Dancin. A rapturous if occasionally frustrating experience, Bee Gees: Live by Request is the video release of a program that originally aired on cable televisions A&E channel. While the brothers Gibb are more than happy to shake out a few numbers from their May 2001 album, This Is Where I Came In, the centerpiece of the show is a somewhat tiresome gimmick that finds the trio taking song requests via phone from excited fans who often chew up valuable time with rambling reminiscences. Still, the pop legends are able to lay out lush, highly polished versions of "I Started a Joke," "Jive Talkin," and "How Deep Is Your Love," while short-changing other gems from the Bee Gees catalog in a throwaway medley. A visibly thrilled audience certainly enhances the fun, but this is really a show for the groups diehard (and most patient) fans. --Tom Keogh This is available for free download from the Members area. The Marshall Mathers LP mp3 Music Downloads |

UK version of the controversial rappers sophomore album, one of the fastest-selling rap albums of all time. Includes one bonus track, The Kids. 2000 release. Standard jewel case. Will the real Slim Shady please stand up? On Eminems sophomore album, he cant decide who he wants to be: the deranged pseudo-psycho of the Slim Shady LP, or a nice guy who just likes to rhyme about slicing and dicing his girlfriend ("Kim"). Of course, according to Eminem, hes just kidding. He refuses to take responsibility for the misogynistic, homophobic bile he spews, whining that hes the victim of people who dont get his unique sense of humor. Its good old Americas fault if the kids arent alright (Eminem blames bad parenting), and hes just capitalizing on Uncle Sams dark side. On the Marshall Mathers LP, hes ambivalent about his fame, angry at his life, pissed off that people take him seriously, and fightin mad at boy bands--and a lot of other white people. But the blue-eyed brat is acutely aware of his status as raps resident alien: he has the most offensive mouth running, but never uses the "N" word. He gives lyrical love to tragic (black) legends like Tupac and Biggie while dissing white rappers hard. Even sitting duck Puffy gets the kid-gloves treatment. Of course, Eminem is an interesting, witty rapper, and theres some nice production on this CD, courtesy of Dr. Dre and others. But the hatred in Eminems rhymes makes the album rotten at its core. And his protests that Slim Shady is just a persona become less convincing with each arrest. Then again, Eminems got it hard: hes rich, famous, white, and male. --Lizz Mendez Berry This is available for free download from the Members area. Signup now for instant access. | |

A Singsong & A Scrap mp3 Music Downloads |

This new, mainly acoustic Chumbawamba album is, for the first time, a collection of songs, pure and simple. Songs with a radical voice, songs with those same old same old Chumbawamba four-part harmonies and catchy choruses, but songs nevertheless without drumloops or samples, without backwards cymbals or synth sequencers. It wont fit neatly into any categories, since it stands with its eight legs in different camps. Traditional English music, `unplugged pop, choral secular music, jangly acoustic singalongs... oh! Just sling a few barely related words together to create categories that sound vaguely familiar, and there youll have it. This is available for free download from the Members area. What You See Is What You Get ( WYSIWYG ) mp3 Music Downloads |
 |
Chumbawamba became a household name in 1997 with the success of the working-class salute "Tubthumping," introducing the world to the Leeds, England-based band and their communal-living ethics. The follow-up, WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get), lacks a muscular mug-swinging anthem to rival its predecessor, but it still delivers repeated potshots to plenty of politically incorrect high-profilers. While their 1986 debut, Pictures of Starving Children Sell Records, stampeded out of the gate pointing an accusatory finger at alleged Live Aid bandwagon jumpers, their stance on WYSIWYG seems far more tame. There is no lack of evil in the year 2000, but jabbing at everything from technology monoliths to the fashion world to Jerry Springer hardly raises an eyebrow. Even their mockery of Christianity ("Jesus in Vegas") seems passé. Regardless, the absence of heavy-handedness makes for a respectable collection of socially minded pop vignettes, perfect for those who enjoy their antiestablishment rhetoric served up with a snicker rather than a scream. --Beth Massa This is available for free download from the Members area.
